HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The deadline has now passed (21st December 2012) to respond to North Dorset District Council'S Public Consultation.

Thank you for all your support and to those of you who took part in the public consultation by writing letters to NDDC or completing their questionnaire. NDDC say that these comments will be considered as part of the consultation process and that you can keep track of progress by looking at their website for updates: http://www.dorsetforyou.com/planning/north-dorset/planning-policy

SAY 'NO' TO ANY HOUSES ON OUR CROWN MEADOWS

Say no to 600 extra cars each day (traffic chaos). Say no to 150 houses on crown meadows

Your opinion does count but it is vital that you make your opinion and voice heard during this final public consultation which ends on 21st December 2012.

The things you can do are:

Write to or email North Dorset District Council (you can use the letter template on this website). You can still have your say by telling them in your own words why you do NOT WANT ANY development on our Crown Meadows, because:

* Any development will increase the severe traffic congestion through the town.
* The Crown Meadows are designated as a conservation area and are an integral part of Blandford's beautiful and acclaimed historic and iconic Georgian town setting.
* There are alternative more suitable sites nearby.
* You prefer that up to 360 homes are built on the site near Tesco (A350/A354) where good access avoids the town centre. This site has good access via a short Green route walk to the town centre and via the new Trailway tunnel that can be opened up. The developer will provide a pedestrian bridge over the bypass.
* Write any other objections you may have.

YOU CAN COMPLETE THE NORTH DORSET DISTRICT COUNCIL ON SURVEY MONKEY

You can email your letter to:

You don't have to post the letter - Blandford Town Council have organised drop off points: there will be boxes to put your responses in at the Customer Service desk in the Blandford Tesco store, the Post Office/Stores at Pimperne or the Town Clerk's Office in Church Lane, Blandford. Other drop off points are Colin's Community Club, 49 Damory Street, The Blandford Museum, The Valentine Gallery (Salisbury Street) and Papyrus (Salisbury Street).

Or post to:
